A land of wine and legends
The Priorat is a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status for its landscape and agricultural traditions; it is a land of contrasts, a land of spectacular scenery, of world famous wines and olive oils, and an area that has some of the best cycling to be found anywhere in Southern Europe
Surrounded, isolated and protected by the Montsant mountains, the Priorat thrives through the richness of its biodiversity. Cycling through vineyards, natural parks, past Moorish castles and Carthusian Monasteries you can hear nature breathing. Home to over 2000 species of plants and animals and with a human history dating back to pre-Neolithic times, the Priorat is a paradise waiting to be discovered.
Cyclists will discover thousands of kilometres of barely transited secondary roads and a plethora of mountain trails, perfect for both road cyclists and mountain bikers. The Priorat has a sporting heritage, playing host to cyclo-sportives and Ultra Marathons throughout the year (La Polar & Skoda Gran Fondo) as well as a gastronomic heritage influenced by the Romans and the Moors.
Come and discover the Priorat at your own pace, then come back and discover more.
