With up to 2.000 athletes and 35.000 spectators, Garmin Challenge Herning on June 8th 2019 will be an intense experience for all involved. In 2018 Garmin Challenge Herning hosts the Danish national championships on the middle distance, which pulls the entire Danish elite to the city, as well as the international athlete will try to qualify for Challenge The Championship.
The course is as beautiful as it can get in the Midwestern countryside of Jutland: A calm and beautiful lake swim in Lake Fuglsang on the outskirts of Herning. The lakes calm water and the long straights makes for a perfect swim with many opportunities to set a personal best. The bike course takes the athletes to the countryside where they will ride through many small villages and the town of Vildbjerg where the athletes will ride through the main street. The course is flat with only one hill, Trehøje and many long straights. This gives the athletes the best possible opportunity for a personal best. The run takes place in the city centre of Herning where up to 35.000 spectators will make for an intense city run and cheer the athletes across the finish line.
The race is an open race where both age groups, and elite alike, compete on the same course on the same time. This makes the race the perfect opportunity for you to try to test your skills against the very best.
