Cadaqués and Cotlliure

The name of Cadaqués is linked to the Mediterranean, to some of the most emblematic beaches and coves of the Costa Brava, in the spectacular landscape of the Cap de Creus Natural Park, in the tranquility of a city where its already important marine character is still breathed artists and intellectuals who have found their paradise of inspiration here, such as the genius of surrealism, Salvador Dalí.

At the bottom of the bay of Cadaqués we find a large number of cobbled streets and white houses that make up the historic center. On the city's profile, the image of the church of Santa María stands out, a temple with a white facade and carefully restored that integrates, inside, a magnificent golden altarpiece of baroque style. For its part, modernist architecture has left its peculiar mark on some of the city's most notable buildings, such as the Casa Serinyana (known as the Blue House).

Needless to say, one of the most popular coves in Cadaqués is Cala de Portlligat, where Dalí resided for a long time. Dalí's house has its origin in a group of fishermen's houses. Precisely. It was in this place where the artist found peace and inspiration to carry out many of his artistic creations.

To the north of the town you will find one of the great natural wonders of the Girona regions: the Cap de Creus Natural Park. It is a set of places that will make a good place in your memory. You will not forget the views of the coastline, wild, dotted with islets, with vertigo cliffs and hidden coves. Neither the capricious-shaped rocks that the erosion of water and wind have sculpted. With a little imagination you can see lions, dragons, camels, eagles and other rock figures. You will also keep memories of the interior of the park, a biological paradise of forests and meadows that you can travel by doing a thousand and one excursions.

At the southern end of France, 26 km from the Catalan border, we find Colliure, jewel of the rocky coast, it enjoys an authentic setting and a protected environment. The small Catalan port is in a cove where the waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the rocks of the Pyrenees mountain chain come to mix. An exceptional climate and territory makes Colliure a unique place, source of well-being and Catalan lifestyle. Several beaches, streams and crystal clear waters will allow you to enjoy a swim or swimming.

The vine as a common denominator

Large extensions of vineyards located on stone terraces due to the orography of the area are the common denominator between Cadaqués and Collioure and the quality wines that you can find and that on some occasions you will taste during the route and also on arrival. Wines of Cadaqués, Colera or Banyuls can be tasted in this edition, in addition to the refined olive oils of Collioure, the Taps of Cadaques or the world-famous Anchovies of Collioure, among others.

The Sea Light Camí de Llum it is not just any sporting event. For 2 days you can learn about the history of Cadaqués and Colliure, taste products from the territory and enjoy quality supplies. You can not lose this!
