The PIRINEXUS 360 Challenge is currently a personal non-stop challenge of 350km. Participants have 20 hours to complete an itinerary that passes through all types of terrain, tarmac roads, many gravel tracks and some urban zones.
All bikes are allowed, although probably the most appropriate are the gravel or the cyclo-cross bikes. Road bikes with 28 (or 25) tyres and mountain bikes 29’ wheels with slicks.
The non-stop mode is the ultimate challenge. 20 hours to cover the entire journey solo. Participants have three food stations plus help from their support team. To ensure a good pace during the event, the three check points have a closing time that the participants must meet. Finally, for those who reach the end within the limit of 20 hours, they will get their finisher award to remember this glorious day.
The HALF PIRINEXUS consists of doing half the route, in a new itinerary. The cyclists will leave Girona at the same time as the participants of the full challenge (06:13 h) direction Costa Brava for the Via Verde of Sant Feliu de Guíxols and up to Torroella de Montgrí on the Pirinexus route. They will continue towards Colomers following the Route of the Ter, cross the Ter and will pass through Foixà, Parlavà, Corçà, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura. Climb the Montnegre, the summit of Els Àngels, San Miquel and return to Girona by the San Daniel Valley.
It is a route of 145 km along Gravel tracks and secondary roads, with an altitude change of about 1,000 meters.
The Pirinexus 360 Challenge is being held as part of the SEA OTTER EUROPE festival.
